MARUCCI | CAT-X LAUNCH

Introducing the Marucci “Cat-X”—the latest evolution in a lineup built for power, precision, and highlight-reel moments.

Starring Orioles shortstop Carter Young, this campaign was captured entirely with an FPV drone, soaring across multiple states to put viewers in the flight path of a home run hit, straight off the Cat-X.

THE CONCEPT

We imagined a story that captures the spark—the moment raw talent meets opportunity and everything changes. Not just a product demo, but a narrative about momentum, visibility, and the grind behind going pro.

The concept follows a rising athlete testing the Cat-X for the first time. One swing, one grand slam, and suddenly he’s viral—catapulted from sandlot standout to drafted phenom. Now in the big leagues, he steps onto a high-profile shoot, ready to show the world what the Cat-X can really do. Captured through the eyes of an FPV drone, the result is fast, cinematic, and built to feel like a highlight in real time.

THE EXECUTION

Every frame was designed to feel raw, fast, and electric—anchored by our central filmmaking tool: FPV. We asked ourselves, what’s the wildest perspective in baseball? The answer: inside the arc of a home run. So we chased it. Within three takes, Carter delivered the perfect swing—and we captured it entirely in-camera as the ball soared beyond the park walls.

Shot across Louisiana, the Bonneville Salt Flats, and San Diego, the piece also features a custom-built press shoot set and fabricated Marucci logo, brought to life by production designer Crystal Geller and her team. It marks a key turning point in the story: the moment Carter steps from viral sensation into the spotlight.
