With the support of his family, job coach, and Goodwill SOLAC, Matthew found more than a job; he found a place where his passion could thrive. At The Comic Bug, he’s built confidence, purpose, and belonging, proving what’s possible when the right opportunity meets the right support.

THE CONCEPT
Matthew wanted to work, contribute, and belong, but repeatedly faced rejection due to his disability. With encouragement from his mother and job coach, he continued pursuing opportunities until he was connected with The Comic Bug — a place where his passion and personality were seen as strengths, not limitations.
Through Goodwill SOLAC’s support, mentorship, and placement, Matthew gained confidence, independence, and real-world skills. Today, he’s a valued member of the team, thriving in an environment that embraces inclusion and community, and living proof of the Power of Work in action.
